HYDERABAD: Police claimed to have foiled two murder conspiracies by arresting four persons in separate cases in the city on Monday.In one of the cases, police registered a case against an advocate from the Old City for sexually assaulting a woman and took him into custody.In the first instance, the Task Force sleuths nabbed a businessman for conspiring to kill an advocate who allegedly sexually assaulted his wife.Police got a hint of the conspiracy with the information provided by a history-sheeter.The businessman, Mirza Mustaq Ali Baig of Warasiguda, supplies ice-creams for parties on orders. According to Task Force DCP Ch Ramchander, Baig's wife developed differences with her in-laws and lodged a complaint of dowry harassment with the Charminar women police station some time ago.Baig approached an advocate, Jaffar. In August, Baig and his wife went to the advocate's office where Jaffar allegedly sexually assaulted the woman after sending Baig out, asking him to purchase a document.Coming to know of the incident, Baig kill the advocate.He contacted his relative, Ali Jan, and offered him Rs 1.50 lakh for the purpose. Simultaneously, Baig approached a history-sheeter and offered him `1.50 lakh.The history-sheeter, however, passed on the information to the police who nabbed Baig and handed him over to the Chilakalaguda police.
