Lahore: Online bookings of quarbanis (sacrifices) for Eid-ul-Zuha can now be done if you are in Pakistan, and do not have the time to make a trip to the market to select the bakra (sheep) of your choice.
Islamabad based ebakra.com and the Karachi-based qurbanionline.com offers customers the option to pick and choose the sheep of their choice for the sacrifices.
Customers can find the animals of their choice, order it online and get the free delivery right at their doorstep. The websites also offer their customers the guarantee of 100 percent satisfaction with the healthiest animals delivered right at the doorstep.
Customers even have the option to visit the farm where the sheep are raised to get an idea of the quality of the product on offer.
“If the customer wishes, he can even visit the sheep farm where they are bred and raised. The prices, though a little bit higher than the market, still remain within the reach of most customers. I am always trying new ideas in my business that is why I have started e-bakra.I could not believe the response that I got, it’s amazing, as we are daily getting in excess of 200 emails,” said the proprietor Qureshi Frozen Foods.
According to him, customers don’t have to worry about fodder and theft of their sheep. Customers have the option to get the sheep delivered to their home, get the sheep slaughtered and the meat delivered to their home or get the sheep slaughtered and pick up the meat from one of the several outlets in the city.
But the sheep come for a price. Those without a weightage come for a minimum of Rs. 7500 and the desi bakras and dunbas come for a whopping Rs 21000 onwards.
Even delivery and slaughtering charges come for a price. Delivery charges of the sheep from the market to home come at about Rs. 600 while only slaughtering comes for 12,00 and slaughtering and delivery charges cost Rs 18,00 approximately.

Even Pakistanis living abroad can avail this facility. For them the prices have all been mentioned in dollars.
Hassnain Raza, the communication executive of qurbanionline.com. said they plan to deal with goats only it is a bit difficult to slaughter and pack cows and other large animals.
“We prefer to deal in goats to avoid several issues. Cow and other animals slaughtering and packaging for delivery are difficult task and we are still monitoring the response of the people. Our target buyers are the people who have been facing hassles in performing qurbani and ones who are afraid due to fake online offers,” he said.
“So far more than a hundred orders have been placed on through the website,” he added.
