Lalit Modi threatens govt of moving IPL overseas
The IPL has offers from the UAE, English counties and other countries.

New Delhi: Security issues and clashing dates with elections may force a cancellation of season 2 of the IPL. And there seems to be a possibility for the event to be shifted out of India.

Chairman and Commissioner of Indian Premier League Lalit Modi is now trying to threaten the government with the possibility of moving overseas if not allowed to hold the event as per schedule.

The Indian government has demanded rescheduling of the cricketing event as the dates clash with the general elections. Various state governments too have refused to provide security for the event.

The IPL has offers from the UAE, English counties and other countries to host the second season of the league.

Meanwhile sources from the government say that the final decision on IPL security will be taken next week.
