London: Shekhar Kapur has just moved into a new apartment, his base for the next one year.
He hasn't had too much time to even buy furniture as his hands are full with the Golden Age, the much talked about sequel to Elizabeth.
The shooting begins in April and things seem to be on-track for the filmmaker.
Explains Shekhar Kapur, "We are finalising the script. I am here for active pre-production — looking for a location and a great design. We start shooting in April. It's a 14-week schedule and post production. Hopefully the film will be ready for release by the end of this year."
2006 is definitely golden age year. As for future plans and his film on Nelson Mandela, Kapur admits he might not be the right man for the job.
"I am an edgy filmmaker, trying various points of view. It's taking a long time. Personally and honestly, I think a South African should make the film. Someone who has felt and experienced the ideas. I can understand what it feels like to be ruled but I don't know how is it to feel only half-human. I have always felt that angst and anger can only come from a South African writer."
But knowing Shekhar Kapur, often the more challenging the task, the stronger is his determination to suceed.
