Kalabhabhishekam held at Sabarimala Temple

PATHANAMTHITTA: Kalabhabhishekam was held at Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple on Friday. As part of the ritual, Thantri Kandararu Rajivaru  performed kalabhakalasa pooja at 11.30 a.m. Kalabhabhishekam was performed on the idol of Ayyappa after sahasrakalasam during the uchcha pooja. Before performing the abhishekam, the kalabhakalasam was taken around the sreekovil in a procession led by the Thantri and Melsanthi Sasi Nampoothiri.  Udayasthamana pooja, pushpabhishekam and padi pooja were the other rituals conducted in the Lord Ayyappa temple.  The temple will be closed on June 20 evening, marking the conclusion of the five-day monthly poojas for the Malayalam month of Mithunam.
