London: Johnny Depp has scored himself an open invitation to join Alice Cooper's band on the road after wowing fans by sitting in on a show at London's 100 Club.

The 48-year-old actor hit the stage to play 'Eighteen' and 'School's Out' with Cooper and his group in June. The rock star offered him a semi-permanent role in the band there and then, Daily Express reported.

"He's a serious guitar player. He even keeps his guitar tech on the set of his movies, and I'm sure, if he had eight weeks to spare, I think he would gladly tour with us... He was that good.

"We called him Johnny D from Kentucky. It was great, he has his own guitar tech (technician) and his own USD 10,000 custom rig. We kept it (his appearance) a good secret... People thought it was going to be Slash or (Jon) Bon Jovi, because they were both in town. Slowly but surely as we played, the girls in the front row started recognizing who he was and freaking out," Cooper said.
