HYDERABAD: Secunderabad Congress MLA Jayasudha is thinking of distancing herself from YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy whom she supported while he was in the party and has been sailing with after he left the party.
This became evident from her chat she had with Express here on Thursday. She said: "There is no point in resigning on the Telangana issue since those who did so were only enacting a drama to deceive people. If all of them are really committed to the cause, they should go to Delhi and mount pressure on the Centre. Let all of them stage a dharna in front of 10, Janpath," she says.Jayasudha appears to have strained relations with Jagan Mohan Reddy though her commitment to late YSR, according to her, is unshakeable. "It was YSR who gave me the lift in public life. I have a high regard for him," she said but would not commit herself on her continued her support to Jagan Mohan Reddy. "I have high regard for the late YSR and his family," she said and left it at that.

"I am answerable to my conscience first and then only to others. If my conscience says `no' to something that I am being asked to do, I will not do it. As a legislator, let me do what I am expected to do and not bother about other things," she said.

Though 29 MLAs professed that they would resign, only 26 did so on August 22. The other three, hailing from Telangana, did not resign on that day claiming that they had already resigned in protest against the delay in formation of Telangana state and their resignations stood. With the speaker rejecting the resignations of all Telangana legislators, two of the three MLAs- Kunja Satyavathi and Konda Surekha- resigned afresh on Sept 13.
