Is the Same Snake Biting Vikas Dwivedi? What Experts Say After UP Man's 7th Bite in 40 Days
The frequency of these encounters has escalated to the point where Vikas now fears a prophesised ninth bite, purportedly fatal according to a chilling dream recounted by him.

Vikas Dwivedi, a 24-year-old resident of Soura village in Uttar Pradesh, has found himself at the centre of a perplexing saga involving repeated snake bites. In an astonishing series of events, Vikas claims to have been bitten by snakes a staggering seven times in just 40 days, sparking widespread concern and disbelief in his community. Vikas recounts encountering what he believes to be the same hooded snake on multiple occasions, often during his sleep. The frequency of these encounters has escalated to the point where Vikas now fears a prophesised ninth bite, purportedly fatal according to a chilling dream recounted by Vikas himself.

Each incident has required Vikas to be rushed to a private hospital in Fatehpur, where he received critical care, including anti-venom injections administered by Dr Jawahar Lal. Despite the treatment, the toll on Vikas and his family has been immense, both emotionally and financially. Dr Jawahar Lal attested to the severity of each bite, emphasising the crucial role of anti-venom in Vikas’s treatment. Every time he was given an anti-venom injection, confirmed Dr Lal, highlighting the life-threatening nature of these encounters.

In light of these extraordinary circumstances, experts in snake behavior and treatment were consulted for their insights. Tauheed Ahmed Khan, a renowned snake catcher from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, expressed astonishment upon learning of Vikas’s plight. Having faced his own harrowing encounter with a cobra, Tauheed shared his expertise on the potency of snake venom and the challenges of treating multiple bites.

Snake venom posed a grave risk to victims, Tauheed explained, adding that precise anti-venom treatment was required that was tailored to the specific type of snake. He underscored the danger of repeated bites and the physiological toll they exact, drawing from his own experience of enduring extensive medical intervention following his own snake bite.

While Vikas’s case remains under scrutiny, it raises compelling questions about the nature of these snake encounters and the future implications for his health. As Vikas and his family appeal for financial support amid mounting medical costs, authorities and medical experts continue to monitor the situation closely.
