BANGALORE: Voicing his opinion on the level of corruption in the country, former member of the Board of Directors of Infosys T V Mohandas Pai has said that justice needs to be enforced and it is the duty of citizens to observe eternal vigilance.“India needs an anti-bribery law,” he said while speaking at a panel discussion organised by The Institute of Experiential Learning, in association with Guardian Bank.During the discussion, he was also engaged in a debate with Founder of Janaagraha Ramesh Ramanathan and former IAS officer Lukose Vallatharai who said that the Lokpal Bill will not end all problems related to corruption in the country.Discussing about ethical practice and transparency, these panelists were part of the Head Table as part of the Annual Leadership Forum 2011 along with founder of Suvarna Yuga and son of former CM J H Patel, Mahima Patel , and sportsperson Ashwini Ponnappa.The panel answered questions from students on corruption, reservation, poverty and change.To a question posed by a student on the government’s reluctance to pass the Lokpal Bill or provide a solution to the problem of corruption, Mohandas Pai said the political class does not want any action which directly affects it.Ramesh Ramanathan said people lack a sense of belonging and hesitate to take ownership of the common spaces in the city.
