Lucknow: The warden of an all girls school in Meerut allegedly molested girls by covering her face and dressing up as a ghost.
Eight students of Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School have written a letter to the District Magistrate and have complained about the midnight activities of the warden.
The girls have noted in the pencil-written letter how the warden walks around the premises to scare them and also touches some girls inappropriately.
A probe has been ordered in the case regarding the molestation of girls.
The school houses 100 students, along with two teachers and a warden.
“She (warden) carries a perfume-like liquid with her and keeps spraying it on certain girls. She also whispers, pretending to talk to a girl that doesn’t exist. She pulls our clothes and at times even arms and legs, but we do not budge or open our eyes,” said a student.
The girls, who have complained about the warden’s alleged molestation, are from class VI, VII and VIII.
The girls allege that at times the warden has brought outsiders and abused girls of the school.
“Our warden has also taken a few girls outside the school premises at night. She also came to my room and touched me inappropriately when I was half-asleep and I continued to pretend that I was asleep,” a class VIII girl wrote.
Meanwhile, the basic shiksha adhikari of Meerut, Satendra Kumar, said, “An inquiry, headed by the Kasturba Gandhi school’s district coordinator and block education officer, has been set up. Prima facie, it has come to our knowledge that the children were being scared as part of a tiff between a full-time teacher and the warden. As soon as the report is submitted, appropriate and strict action will be taken.”
