Neemuch: Well known for his contentious remarks, BJP MLA T Raja Singh on Sunday said that each and every Hindu should attend RSS shakhas and those who refuse to do so, “are not Hindus”.
“Those who do not attend an RSS shakha, are not Hindus,” the BJP lawmaker from Hyderabad said.
A video of the MLA making the controversial remark at a ‘Hindu Dharmasabha’ event held in Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday has gone viral.
"Jo shakha mein nahi jaata, vo apne aapko hindu kahna bhool jaye, main nahi maanta voh desh ya dharm ke liye kuchh kar sakta hai (Those who do not go to RSS shakhas should stop calling themselves Hindus. I don’t think he can do anything for the country or his religion),” the firebrand MLA was heard saying.
Singh has asked every Hindu to attend RSS shakhas wherever possible.
He further urged the Modi government to take stringent action against those who kill cows and chant anti-India slogans. He also talked at length about religious conversions.
Unnao MP Sakshi Maharaj, who was also present at the event claimed that a concept of Hindu nation is shaping up in the country gradually and it calls for strict imposing of birth control. She claimed the central government would now work on its “Hum Do, Hamare Do and Sabke Do” policy.
Raja, the Goshamahal MLA in Hyderabad has triggered many a controversy with his stinging remarks in 2017 and was recently booked for one of his inflammatory speeches in Hyderabad.
