BANGALORE: Director General of the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) Dr V K Bahuguna said a team of the council will visit mining sites in Bellary on September 12 and will conduct field visits for two weeks.The 18-member team headed by Bahuguna has been appointed by the Supreme Court to assess the environmental impact of mining in Bellary.Dr V K Bahuguna said: “We are done with the preliminary assessment.We have collected scientific data about the quality of air, water and the livelihood.The district administration has been asked to give the names of miners.”
