New Delhi: As part of its expansion plans in the country, IBM India on Thursday started its operations in Goa to cater specifically to the requirements of SMB clients.
The company plans to set up 12 new centres in the country by the end of this year, IBM said in a statement.
With over 3,000 SMB customers in India, the company would target various clients in the government, health care, retail, pharmaceuticals, construction and process industries through its operations in Goa.
The Small and Medium Business industry is fastest growing sector in India and accounts for over half of IBM's business in the country.
Indian SMBs are likely to invest about 500 million dollar on servers and networking hardware this year, with two-thirds of the spending going toward network-related hardware purchases alone, the statement said.
