BANGALORE: Mynaa, a new Kannada flick which is yet to begin its shooting on March 23, will cast Chetan, Nitya Menon and Sharath Kumar in the lead roles. The movie will be directed by Nagashekar.Nagashekar who had earlier directed Sanju Weds Geetha, has now based his new venture on a real life incident which took place in 2008. Nagashekar, Sharath Kumar and the story writer Ashok Kumar shared with City Express the story of the film and their experiences.Mynaa is based on a true incident witnessed by Ashok Kumar while investigating a case related to a software engineer and a courier boy. The story revolves around the two lovers and the crime they get into. Speaking about film Nagashekar said, “When Ashok narrated the story to me, he never forced me to consider the positive side of the police department. In fact, he also brought out the negative side and tried to project the weaknesses of the department in the script.”He further added, “In this movie, we try to project that humanity is more important than law. We will try our best to blend in both emotions and facts very well.” Sharath who has performed in 130 south Indian films, has acted as a cop in more than 25 films. He said that he was interested to act in Kannada films as he started his career here in the city. When asked about his different experiences as a cop in other films and his new venture, he said, “What attracted me towards this film was that the film is based on a real life incident. The story is not fictitious. Audience can easily relate to the story and the characters involved in the film.” Ashok Kumar, a senior Police Officer who has also written the story for the movie, said that Sharath Kumar would best suit the role. “I would like to extend my support to Sharath in all possible ways to make the character look real to the audience.”
