New Delhi: In the world of journalism, there are stories, and then there are stories like this one. The story on the truth behind Pakistan's stand Osama bin Laden's killing and is the result of more than two years of leg work.
CNN-IBN's Investigations Editor Manoj Gupta has been relentlessly pursuing an array of Pakistani officials to reveal the truth behind Osama's killing. Among the people he tried were former Pakistan president General Pervez Musharraf, Former interior minister Rehman Mallik and former ISI Chief General Shuja Pasha. No one, absolutely no one was willing to come on record.
The man who revealed the story, Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar was pursued for more than 18 months. In the first few months he never even picked up Manoj's calls, never even acknowledged him.
But finally six months ago, he relented by telling Manoj that he will speak to him at the right time. Over the last six months we had been waiting for the right time to come.
