On Thursday, Rachna Banerjee took up the role of a teacher for a brief time during her visit to Khanyan Primary School in Pandua. The actress visited the classrooms and tested the knowledge of the students by asking them questions. She went to Class 5’s classroom and saw the teacher giving Bangla lessons to the students. During her interaction with the students, the Tumi Je Amar actress picked up a book and began quizzing the students and asking them to spell a few words for her. The students were all smiles upon seeing her and when they answered correctly, they were praised as well.
The same day, she also visited the Pandua Hospital, where she was ready to tackle any of the problems the hospital faced. On the other hand, in school, she seamlessly transitioned into the teacher’s role and inspected with her staff. Before leaving the premises, she discussed the problems the school faced and offered suggestions on how to overcome the issues.
In a media interaction, the actress shared, “The roof of several rooms is broken and needs to be repaired. There is also a need for more classrooms.” She also demanded a different place to arrange the mid-day meal. Apart from this, the actress emphasised on good and quality education and English speaking in government schools. Rachna Banerjee believes that if quality education can be provided to children up to class 5, then there would be fewer cases of dropouts and children will not leave their studies to take up work.
