Headley-Rana terror case probe hints at role of woman

Mumbai: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has asked filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's son Rahul, who came in contact with terror suspect David Headley during his stay in Mumbai, not to leave the city.

"The NIA team is in Mumbai since Saturday and is gathering details pertaining to the activities of Headley and Tahawwur Hussain Rana. The NIA has recorded the statements of those who were in touch with Headley during his stay here," a senior police source told PTI.

The source said three other persons, who were also in contact with Headley, have been asked to stay put in the capital for "some time". He, however, declined to reveal the identities of the three in view of the sensitivity of the case.

"Rahul Bhatt and the other three are fully cooperating with the police and NIA. All of them have been asked not to leave Mumbai for some time," the source said on condition of anonymity.

The NIA has registered a case against Laskhar-e-Toiba operatives Headley and Rana after their arrest by the US investigating agency FBI for allegedly plotting terror attacks in India.
