CHENNAI: CSK camaraderie runs through the year it seems – regardless of whether the IPL is on or not. When the Indian team finished their match against Australia in Sydney in the Commonwealth Bank series, the Chennai Super Kings contingent within Team India, including captain MSD, took some time off to catch up with an old mate who is no longer on the team. Former Chennai Super King extraordinaire, Mathew Hayden tweeted last week, “...time to start prepping for dinner I’ll be cooking for good mates Satheesh, MS, Raina, Parthiv, Ashwin & Arun #IndianCricketTeam”, followed by a post that read, “The boys are in for a treat!” When this was followed by a picture preview of what an apparently shirtless ‘Haydos’ likes to whip up in the kitchen, it was evident that they did have a treat. While Parthiv Patel, Suresh Raina and Ravichandran Ashwin had just come off a tough game, Dhoni looked relaxed.Pre-IPL fever managed to edge out the blues that Team India’s dismal show down under has been giving fans, after a few photographs of the group's reunion at the Hayden residence – complete with the ‘master chef’ in action and glimpses of the afternoon’s culinary spread, went public. As far as conversation went, a source close to the team revealed, there was some animated talk on the Mongoose bat, a lot of discussion about Hayden’s monstrous sixers and the plans for the year ahead. With season 5 of the IPL only about a month away, Hayden is believed to have been keen for all the details on the new signings and what is in store for April.Clearly, this team’s spirit is in full swing wherever they go – whether they're at Chepauk or thousands of miles from here. And they certainly know how to have a good time. Suresh Raina later summed up the evening with, “Hayden (s) house for dinner..Yummy food made by him:).” With two consecutive wins in a row with the IPL franchise, here's wishing these lions a ‘roar-worthy’ number 3.
