The Kerala High Court on Thursday permitted the Crime Branch to go head with the probe against two CBI officials - Unnikrishnan and Rajan in connection with ASP Haridath’s suicide case.
Justice N K Balakrishnan issued the order when the anticipatory bail pleas of the two suspended CBI officers came up for hearing.
The state argued that prima facie evidence suggests the complicity of the two officers. But they have not been implicated in the case since the forensic lab reports on the lap top and hard disks seized from the cops have not yet been received, the state submitted.
There was evidence, including deposition of witness against the two officials.
The state government also said that investigation in the case is progressing.
Crime Branch also argued that the wife of Haridath and several cops, who are witnesses in the case, deposed before the Crime Branch against the two officials.
