Give a gift of sound this Deepavali

BANGALORE: Gifting for diwali is an age old tradition, and the greatest gift that a hearing impaired person can receive on this occasion is a good quality hearing aid.Rajan Speech and Hearing Centre, a premier Institute for hearing loss and speech disorders announces a unique and innovative Gift of Sound campaign that allows one to donate their old hearing aids or sponsor new hearing aids for those who cannot afford it. The campaign is on till October 31 across all outlets of RSHC.The Gift of Sound campaign is a mere bridge between donors and recipients. As an organisation RSHC strives to promote better hearing, they feel the need to reach out to the underprivileged sections of society and help them. The task of the campaign is to motivate those who are already using hearing aids to donate their old ones or sponsor new ones to a needy patient.Speaking about the campaign, G. Krishna Kumar, Director of RSHC said, “Every year we receive innumerable phone calls from many underprivileged people to help them with hearing aids. The gap between the haves and have-nots is huge and this diwali we are trying our best to bridge this. Even an old hearing aid can make a lot of difference to someone who cannot afford it."The need for a good quality hearing aid and not just any hearing aid cannot be over emphasized; as wearing a good quality aid makes all the difference between hearing and not hearing. This novel endeavour by RSHC is a campaign to reach out to the underprivileged sections of society and help them. All their efforts towards this are voluntary and they do not charge any of the stakeholders during this process. Rajan Speech and Hearing Centre will also identify the needy ones to pass on these hearing aids to.The cost of sponsoring a hearing aid can vary from anywhere between Rs 16,000 to Rs 31,000. In case anyone would like to donate their old hearing aids, the same will be serviced and passed onto a needy patient by RSHC.
