HYDERABAD: Senior IPS officer and home secretary P Gautam Kumar has approached the High Court with a request for direction to the Central Administrative Tribunal to dispose of his pending petition challenging the appointment of V Dinesh Reddy as director-general of police within two weeks.Kumar made the Union home secretary, state chief secretary, Dinesh Reddy and CAT registrar CAT respondents.In his affidavit he said that the delay in the disposal of his case by CAT was mockery of the constitutional mandate of Article 144 which requires all authorities to act in aid of the orders passed by the Supreme Court. “Having successfully ensured that the challenge to the successive illegal appointments of Girish Kumar and Aravinda Rao had, in effect, become infructuous, the present effort to replicate that success again for the third time in a row would shatter whatever little confidence is left in the concept of rule of law”, he said
