BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has decided not to celebrate Kartika Purnima on Thursday. He will not take part in any of the events on the occasion. A release from the Chief Minister’s Office said Naveen had refrained from any celebration in view of the recent floods which caused havoc in the State.The Chief Minister had stayed away from Dussehra and Diwali celebrations too.STUDENT ENDS LIFE: A post-graduate student of Utkal University allegedly ended her life on Wednesday afternoon. Sangita Sarojini, a Psychology student, had left behind a suicide note which police have seized. She took the extreme step when her roommate had gone out during the noon. The reason behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained. Investigation is on.MLA’s CAR HITS VENDOR: A small-time vendor was injured after he was hit by a car in Unit IV area on Wednesday evening. Susant Majhi, a lassi vendor, was knocked down by a car which belonged to a ruling Biju Janata Dal legislator. The MLA, however, was not in the car.
