New Delhi: The final of the 28th Peerless Federation Cup in Kolkata will see 11-time champion Mohun Bagan take on Sporting Clube de Goa (SCG).

In the second semi-final of the Federation Cup on Wednesday, the Kolkata club came out on top as they beat Dempo Sports Club 5-4 via sudden death tie-beaker to enter the final.

Jose Barreto, Favio, Lal Kamal Bhowmick, Dulal Biswas and Dharamjit Singh scored with only Dipendu Biswas failing to find the net for Mohan Bagan.

The club from Goa saw four of its players - Beto, Climax Lawrence, Valeriand Rebglo and Nascimento Silvgira - finding the target.

Joachmin Abranches and Jeri Zirsanga missed and that meant that SCG would face Mohun Bagan in the final.

Both sides scored twice in the regulation time and even half an hour of extra time failed to break the deadlock.

The first set of five penalties finished 4-4 as Dipendu missed for Bagan and Abranches failed for Dempo.

In the sudden death, Dempo’s Zirsanga who missed took the first shot and Bagan's Dharamjit found the net off the next shot to take his team into the final.

During the regulation time Dempo took the lead the 26th minute when Ranty Martins lobbed the ball into the Bagan net despite being surrounded by two Bagan defenders Dharamjit and Sanjib Maria.

Goalkeepr Sangram Mukherjee could do nothing as the ball crossed the goalline.

The first-half ended with a 1-0 lead for Dempo.

After the break, Bagan upped the ante and drew level in the 57th minute when Baichung Bhutia headed in the ball.

There were some unruly incidents in the match, too, and the play was stopped for four minutes Bhutia and Lalawmpuiya came to blows with Ranty

Marching orders were given to Lalawmpuiya and Ranty reducing both the teams to 10-men each.

Dempo went ahead once again in the 75th minute Beto's shot found the back of Bagan's net.

However, Bhutia brought back the cheers in Bagan camp when he drew parity with just two minutes remaining.
