CHENNAI: Expelled former PMK leader T Velmurugan today announced plans to float a new party in January next year and said he would not return to PMK 'at any cost.'Speaking to reporters here two weeks after PMK expelled him for his 'anti-party' activities and 'harsh remarks' against party founder Dr S Ramadoss, the two-time MLA said he would not return to the PMK fold in future at any cost.Velmurugan, PMK's whip in the previous state assembly and its Joint General Secretary at the time of expulsion, sought to know why his reported remarks against Ramadoss were not being made public. He also charged the Ramadoss-run party with having become like a 'public limited company'"I will take the support of other expelled leaders in the recent past for my planned new outfit," the former MLA said and claimed that a majority of PMK workers were in touch with him and ready to join him whenever required. An articulate politician, Velmurugan was perceived to have enjoyed the affection of former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi during the previous DMK rule.
