Ensure 25pc seats for poor in schools: AIADMK

PUDUCHERRY: AIADMK Puducherry unit secretary A Anbazhagan urged the government to take steps to implement reservation of 25 per cent seats in private schools for children belonging to economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups.He told reporters on Monday that Supreme Court had upheld the constitutional validity of the Right to Education Act however, the UT administration was yet to take any steps in this regard. He said that UT government was yet to fix the fee structure in the private schools. Pointing out that a committee was supposed to be formed to finalise the fee structure in the private schools, he wanted to know the status of the panel.
