New Delhi: Congress scion Rahul Gandhi began his second leg of campaign for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls on Monday from Lalitpur in southern UP.
However, controversy reached there before the 37-year-old Amethi MP could.
Election Commission observers pulled down some of his posters from government buildings saying it was in violation of the model code of conduct.
However, the Congress disagreed and claimed the Samajwadi party had conspired to get it all done.
The controversy continued even as Rahul stressed on the power of the youth to bring about "a comprehensive change in UP."
Alleging that that political parties had used people of UP for political gains, Rahul said no had development taken place in the state.
Barely 12 days ago, Rahul had toured parts of western Uttar Pradesh, where elections are due in first and third phases.
Rahul, the star campaigner of Congress, will tour Lalitpur, Jhansi, Kanpur and Agra on April 2, 3 and 4.
Polling in these places is due on April 7.
Rahul will commence his campaign from Lalitpur in the southern tip of the state Monday.
In the afternoon, he will address a public meeting at Gurusarai and reach Jhansi for another road show later in the evening.
The following day, he will start his road tour from Jhansi in the morning and drive down to Kanpur, where he proposes to address a series of roadside meetings, before proceeding to Agra for his last lap of campaigning Wednesday.
