BANGALORE: Taking serious note of the objection by former CM B S Yeddyurappa for independent candidate B Sriramulu’s supporters taking the same route where he was conducting a road show, the Election Commission has warned the latter against holding election rallies without permission from local authorities. Meanwhile, the Chief Electoral Officer has sought the permission of the EC to initiate action against Sriramulu for distributing free meals at B D Halli village on November 18 and 19. Along with a complaint copy, he had sent the video footage to the Commission.The EC on Thursday seized Rs 11 lakh cash in Bellary which was allegedly being transported to distribute among voters. Chief Electoral Commissioner R Manoj directed authorities to initiate a suo-motu inquiry in the matter.
