TIRUCHY: Three DMK functionaries, Deputy Mayor M Anbalagan, district secretary Kudamurutti T Sekar and Sheriff, were booked on Monday for charges of attempt to murder.The police registered three cases under sections 395 (punishment for dacoity), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC against the three. They were produced before the judicial magistrate court IV here.They were earlier booked under sections 147, 447, 363, 342, 325, 387, 506 (II), 392 and 120(b) of the IPC for their alleged involvement with 11 others, including former minister K N Nehru, in usurping a `10-crore land for building the party headquarters here. Eight of them, including Nehru, Anbalagan and Sekar, were arrested on August 25.
