Drunk man kills wife

BANGALORE: A drunk man allegedly murdered his wife by hitting her head with a blunt weapon. The incident was reported in Garvebavipalya in Madivala police station limits on Thursday.The victim Bharathi (30), was married to Anand (40), a daily wage worker. Bharathi worked as maid servant for livelihood.The police said that Anand came home drunk every day and assaulted his wife. On Thursday, when the couple’s children had gone for work, he came home in an inebriated state and attacked Bharathi, who was taking bath, with a blunt weapon. After she succumbed, he escaped with her gold chain and Rs 20,000 cash that was kept in the home. The incident came to light when their children returned home. As the door was locked, the broke open to find her mother lying in a pool of blood.Madivala police have registered a murder case and are on the lookout for Anand, who is absconding after the incident.
