BANGALORE:  A 23-year-old techie committed suicide by jumping from the terrace of his office in Electronics City Phase two on Friday.The deceased Tushar Bhatia, a native of Kanpur, had joined Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as a technical assistant in February earlier this year. He had rented a room in Marathalli and was staying with one of his friends.According to the police, Bhatia had gone to work in the morning. At around 1.20 pm, he went to the terrace on the 9th floor of the building and jumped. With multiple injuries on his head, limbs and other parts, he succumbed on the spot. The exact reason for the suicide is yet to be ascertained.“It is said that Bhatia was suffering from urine infection from last two months and reportedly there was a problem in his kidney. He was upset with it and had expressed his anxiety with his friends. Preliminary investigations make it clear that health problem was the reason for his suicide. However, we will get more information after questioning his friends,” the police added.It is said that Bhatia had recently availed two weeks of medical leave for treatment and had returned to work recently. His parents reside in Mumbai and his father is a manager at State Bank of India. The police have shifted the body to Victoria Hospital mortuary. The police are waiting for his parents to reach the city.
