Delhi Assembly Special Session on Full Statehood to Begin Tomorrow
During this three day session, MLAs of both the AAP and the BJP will present their views on whether or not Delhi should be a full state, Delhi Deputy CM and Finance Minister Manish Sisodia said.

New Delhi: A special three-day session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly will begin on Wednesday to discuss the demand for full statehood for the national capital.

According to the Delhi Assembly's order of business for Wednesday, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Manish Sisodia will introduce a government resolution on the floor of the house demanding full statehood for Delhi.

"Delhi's administrative structure is full of hindrances, even if one wants to accomplish the simplest of tasks. The elected government has very little power under the current structure. The Central Government has been run by the BJP for the last four years and they have all the authority to grant full statehood to Delhi. We believe government departments in Delhi should be answerable to the elected government of Delhi. That is why we have called for this three day special session," Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson and Greater Kailash MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj said.

He added, "During this three day session, MLAs of both the AAP and the BJP will present their views on whether or not Delhi should be a full state."

Even we want to see whether the BJP leadership stays true to their earlier again. Time and again, the BJP has raised the issue of full statehood for Delhi. Now is their chance to fulfill their promises."
