PUDUCHERRY: The relatives of the Pondicherry University employee, whose body was found in a forest near Vanur, staged a road blockade alleging foul play in his death and demanding a CBI probe. Traffic on the usually busy East Coast Road (ECR) was disrupted for nearly 40 minutes. Kalapet police officials pacified the agitators after which they withdrew the blockade. The body of Velayudham (40), an academic instructor of the performing arts department in the university, was found in a highly decomposed state. It was recovered by Tamil Nadu police who handed the body over to the Puducherry police. The post mortem was done in a private medical college.But the relatives including the wife of the deceased refused to accept the body and resorted to road blockade near the university entrance on Wednesday morning.They demanded a job for the deceased’s wife and another post mortem of the body at a government hospital. According to sources, the university may consider the request for job for the deceased employee’s kin on humanitarian ground.
