The death toll from a powerful earthquake in southwestern Pakistan rose to 208 people on Wednesday after scores of houses collapsed in remote mountainous areas near the Iranian border, Pakistan's Frontier Corps said.
"More than 80 bodies were recovered early in the morning from collapsed houses," said a spokesman for the corps, a paramilitary force involved in operations to rescue victims of the Tuesday quake.
