New Delhi: International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Jacques Rogge will be the special invitee at the opening ceremony of the Delhi Commonwealth Games here on Sunday, a top Indian Olympic Association (IOA) official said.
Rogge will arrive in Delhi on Friday and leave the capital on Monday, IOA secretary general Randhir Singh told IANS on Thursday.
During his stay, Rogge is scheduled to meet delegates of some of the Commonwealth Games Associations and he will also visit the venues and the Games Village.
"It's a great honour for us that he has accepted our invitation," said Randhir.
The Oct 3-14 Commonwealth Games will see athletes from 71 nations and territories fighting it out for supremacy in 17 disciplines spread across 11 venues.
