Cover up! Court tells exotic dancers
Court says the dancers must wear conservative bikinis.

Daytona Beach (US): No more nude dancers in this Spring Break city. A court says exotic dancers in adult bars that serve liquor now must wear conservative bikinis instead.

G-strings and pasties will not be enough to meet the new requirement, a federal appeals court said.

The ruling upheld municipal zoning and nudity ordinances in a dispute between the city and Lollipops Gentlemen's Club.

A district court had ruled in 2006 that Daytona Beach's nudity laws were unconstitutional because they violated the right to free speech, and dancers at adult clubs had been going nude ever since. The city appealed.

Lollipops officials also wanted the appeals court to reverse a court ruling from December 2004 that upheld zoning laws that regulate where adult businesses can operate. Lollipops lost that request, too.

An attorney for Lollipops said they were prepared to take the case to the US Supreme Court.

"I don't think it means anything," lawyer Brett Hartley said. "We don't see (this) ruling as a major setback. This is just part of the dance."
