BANGALORE: The sleuths of the Special Enquiry squad of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in betting activities over cricket matches. The police seized Rs 1.5 lakh cash, four mobile phones and other goods.The accused Mukesh Kumar Jain alias Chikana, 31, and Anil Kumar Sharma, 22, are residents of H P Samaj Road in Basavanagudi. Another accused, Harish is absconding and efforts are on to nab him. Reportedly, cops on a tip off that betting was organised at a house on H P Samaj Road, raided the house. The accused were indulged in betting activities. Chikana was allegedly conducting betting from many years and cases were booked against him in Vyalikaval, Tilaknagar, Upparpet police stations and in Mumbai. Further investigations are on.
