Family members of a child who died in Calcutta ransacked the hospital alleging medical negligence.
Kolkata: Family members of an 11- month old child, who died at the Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI), ransacked the hospital alleging medical negligence.
The parents and relatives of the child, Ghulam, went on a rampage after his death at the CMRI in the Iqbalpur area of Kolkata on Tuesday morning.
Police had to resort to lathicharge to control the situation.
Ghulam was earlier operated upon in the hospital but his condition started deteriorating after the operation.
The parents now blame the hospital administration for the infant's death.
They also allege that the hospital didn't inform them about the cause of death.
