New York: Charlie Sheen has become the highest paid actor on TV, despite losing his job on 'Two And A Half Men'. The 46-year-old star had a public fall-out with the show's creator Chuck Lorre earlier this year, following months of bizarre behaviour and he was eventually fired in March.
Hollywood actor Ashton Kutcher took over the lead role in the hit show, but Sheen still managed to top Forbes's recent rich list. Sheen pulled in earnings of USD 40 million, making him the highest paid TV actor between May, 2010 and May, 2011.
He is followed by Ray Romano, who earned USD 20 million, for 'Men of A Certain Age'. Steve Carell is in third, with his USD 15 million pay cheque from 'The Office', with 'Ncis' star Mark Harmon coming in fourth with USD 13 million.
Sheen's former co-star Jon Cryer and former CSI actor Laurence Fishburne were joint fifth with USD 11 million each. Also in the top 10 were 'Grey's Anatomy's Patrick Dempsey with USD 10 million, 'The Mentalist' star Simon Baker, 'House's Hugh Laurie and 'Law & Order: Svu' star Christopher Meloni all tied with USD 9 million.
