THRISSUR: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that the UDF Government will take stern action on the lottery issue. He remarked that Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan will soon see what the UDF Government will do on the lottery issue. He told reporters at the DCC office on Friday that the last LDF Government didn’t do much in that matter and they were just lamenting that the lottery mafia had looted Rs 80,000 crore from the state. He was responding to the recurring statement of VS that the delay in the CBI probe into the lottery issue was owing to the intervention of Union Minister P Chidambaram.Asked about the statement of Achuthanandan that the UDF Government is hunting him, Chandy said the government was not hunting down anyone. “Law should take its own course. There is no need to be irritated over the matter,” he said.Chandy sought the cooperation of the Christian and Amrita Managements in ensuring social justice in the education sector. The state government will try to find out a lasting solution to the issues related to the self-financing professional education sector after the completion of the admission to the courses this year. He sought the cooperation of everybody to this effect. The decision on the Deputy Speaker and having a fifth minister from Indian Union Muslim League   would be decided at the meeting to be held on June 22, he said.
