New Delhi: The CBI has registered a case against a Joint General Manager, Canteen Stores Department, for allegedly amassing properties worth Rs 64.81 lakh disproportionate to the known sources of his income.
CBI sources said a case was registered against Joint General Manager Lakhwinder Singh for allegedly acquiring disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 64.81 lakhs (approx) during the check period April, 2002 to December, 2015.
CBI spokesperson claimed here that searches were conducted at official and residential premises of accused and his close relatives at Mohali, Karnal, Gurgaon and Mumbai, which led to the recovery of cash worth Rs 4.5 lakhs (approx), jewellery amounting to Rs 12 lakhs (approx), including nine gold biscuits.
The official said around 42 bank accounts, Rs 1.18 crore balance in PPF, FDR and saving accounts and incriminating documents, including investment in immovable and movable assets, have also been found.
