New Delhi: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy reportedly spoke to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Monday and said that he wanted to meet him and AIADMK Chief Jayalalitha to discuss the Cauvery water sharing issue to look for an amicable solution.
There will be an All Party meeting over the issue to decide whether a delegation should go to meet Karunanidhi or Kumaraswamy himself should go. The date of meeting is yet to be decided.
Meanwhile, Karunanidhi described Kerala government's expert team visit to Mullaiperiyar Dam as 'unilateral', saying the action amounted to contempt of court as the dispute over raising the dam's storage level was pending before the Supreme Court.
The team from Kerala had visited the dam last Saturday and Sunday to study possible ecological impact if the water level was increased, a demand made by Tamil Nadu.
Writing in the DMK's mouth piece, Murasoli, he said Kerala had set a bad precedent by deputing the team to the dam site, which concerned the two states, without the permission of the SC, the Centre and Tamil Nadu Government.
