Chandigarh: Border Security Force (BSF) troopers have recovered seven kg of heroin along the India-Pakistan border in the Gurdaspur sector, a BSF spokesman said on Sunday.
He said the heroin, in seven packets, was found near the Border Out Post Momanpur in Gurdaspur sector. The heroin is said to be worth Rs 35 crore in the international market.
The heroin packets were found with a 12-foot long plastic pipe, the spokesman said.
With the latest seizure, the BSF has seized over 283 kg of heroin this year. The seizure of heroin in the entire last year (2013) was 322 kg in the Punjab sector, BSF deputy inspector general (DIG) R.P.S. Jaswal said.
