BANGALORE: Jagriti will screen Open Frame, a Chetan Shah documentary on S G Vasudev, Bangalore’s very own world renowned painter and artist. Mysore born S G Vasudev studied at the Government College of Arts in Chennai. He is also the founder-member of the Cholamandal Artists’ Village in Chennai. Vasudev works with various mediums: drawings, paintings, copper reliefs and tapestries. He has exhibited his works all over the country and also globally in cities like New York, Chicago, London and Munich. His works are represented in numerous personal and institutional collections across India and  across the world.Vasudev has also served as an art director in the award-winning Kannada films, Samskara and Vamsha Vriksha. He has been closely associated with Kannada literature and has done cover designs for many important publications. He has extended his art to many crafts such as batik, ceramics, metal work, terracotta and wood inlay. He has won several prestigious awards, including those instituted by the National Lalit Kala Academy, the state academies of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, and the Government of Karnataka. Vasudev is founder and managing trustee of Arnawaz Vasudev Charities, a non-profit organisation set up in 1989 that provides financial assistance to young artists and art-related initiatives.The Bangalore venues are coordinating to bring  Chetan Shah’s documentary on world-renowned artist, Vasudev, to audience groups in different parts of the city. The schedule is: Seva Sadan, Malleswaram November 8 at 6.30 pm; Suchitra Film Society November 9 at 6.30 pm; Jagriti Theatre, Whitefield November 10 at 7 pm.
