New Delhi: The three-day argument of CBI counsel Harish Salve on Thursday ended with the prosecution demanding that Uphaar owners be punished for being in the know of the lurking dangers at the theatre and yet not having done anything to prevent it.

Putting its case before the court, the CBI said Ansal brothers – Sushil and Gopal – could not escape the criminal liability just because of being company owners or saying they did not know about the dangers.

They should be punished under Section 304 (II) (knowledge to cause harm) of the IPC as they had full knowledge of the dangers the theatre faced, Salve added.

While CBI's argument would continue on October 3, 4 and 5, Uphaar victims' lawyer would argue his case on October 12, 13 and 16.
