Boat race held

Minister for Civil Supplies Anoop Jacob inaugurated the George Eden Memorial Jalotsavam 2012 in the Pachalam-Goshree backwaters on Tuesday.

Mayor Tony Chammany and Hibi Eden MLA were the chief guests. T J Vinod, development standing committee chairman of the Corporation presided over the function.

The boat race was flagged off by District Collector P I Sheik Pareeth. Thaniyan of Thanthonnithuruthu boat club, Sree Guruvayoorappan of Ragam boat club,  Valanthakadu and Hanuman Number 1 of Swan boat club, Panangad, bagged A grade.
