BANGALORE: Planning for a movie on a Sunday but worried about parking space? Here's a solution, leave your car home, take a bus to Banshankari Traffic Transit Management Centre (TTMC) that will soon house a multiplex theatre screening Kannada and other language movies at subsidised rates.
As part of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM)scheme, at present nine TTMCs have been built in Bangalore, while the tenth one in Banashankari is scheduled for inauguration sometime this month. "The TTMCs are commercial spaces, which have been handed over to an asset management agency for the next 12 years. The TTMCs will have many facilities, while for long we have been planning to have a multiplex theatre," BMTC Managing Director, K R Srinivasa said.

The available space belonging to BMTC at these TTMCs will be leased to the multiplex operators, under the condition that they provide all facilities at a subsidised rate. The idea is that since the rentals would be low, the multiplexes should then also make tickets and other amenities available at affordable rates, Srinivasa added.

With a multiplex being in a TTMC a filmgoer will just have to take a bus straight to the TTMC and then after the movie, take a bus back home.

What's your reaction?
