The Bangalore police has also arrested orphanage employee who blackmailed inmates who were sexually harassed.

Bangalore: The driver of the founder of the orphanage home has claimed that he saw the accused Korean national indulge in sexual acts with inmates. Suresh Kumar - who was Choi's driver for 12 years - also alleged that a woman had died under mysterious circumstances in the Peace House orphanage in 1999.

The Bangalore police has meanwhile detained another employee of the orphanage who was allegedly blackmailing past victims of sexual harassment. The incident came to light after a victim lodged a police complaint of facing years of harassment at the orphanage.

A case of sexual exploitation was reported from the orphanage after a Dalit girl had alleged that she and several others were repeatedly sexually abused at the orphanage. She has also claimed that the abusers' associate is blackmailing her for sexual favours.

"I stayed in the orphanage from the time I was 3-years-old till I turned 19. He started abusing me when I was 9 years old and even gave us our baths. He later began abusing another girl. Whenever she wasn't around he wanted me. We had no choice but to do what he asked us to do," recalls the complainant. The girl who has filed the complaint has been a former inmate in the orphanage.

A regional TV channel had also reportedly procured videos showing the accused sexually abusing a minor. The orphanage has now been shut down.

She approached the police after moving out from the orphanage. Joint Commissioner crime, Hemant Nimbalkar, has assured the girl that the accused will be tried under the law of the land as he is staying in India. "We have received her complaint and registered an FIR against the accused. We are investigating the matter in detail. He is staying here so law of the land will apply to him," says Joint Commissioner, Crime, Bangalore Police.

The girl has alleged that she was not the only victim facing sexual assualt in the orphanage. Several other girls also had to face the trauma. The police has said that they are questioning every person related in the case and will ensure that the accused he will be arrested if found guilty.
