Siddeshwara Swamiji of Jnanyogashram in Bijapur has accepted the invitation of the state government to inaugurate the Dasara celebration in Mysore on October 16.
The swamiji will traditionally inaugurate the Nada Habba by lighting a lamp.
A team, headed by Medical Education and Mysore District Minister S A Ramdas, on Friday met the swamiji, who is camping at Gurudevashrama at Sadalaga in Chikkodi taluk for a monthlong pravachana, and requested him to accept the invitation to inaugurate the dasara celebrations .
As a pre-condition to accept the invitation swamiji asked the state government to organise a three-day seminar for which national and international scholars and writers were invited.
The state government has agreed to the demand, sources said.
