BANGALORE: Sapna Book House co-ordinated a notebook distribution programme for underprivileged students from various schools yesterday. The programme was organised at The Corporation School, Gandhinagar. Three thousand deserving students from various schools were gifted notebooks. The schools that participated in the event included Arya Vidyashala school, Bharat Vidya Niketan School, Government school, Laxmanapuri and KTSV Sangha school. The notebook distribution took place in one of the classrooms filled with eager students from different schools. Children from diverse backgrounds gathered at Corporation School to receive notebooks. “It has been an absolute privilege to be a part of such a noble act. For the past 14 years, Sapna Book House has been distributing notebooks to the needy. An initiative of Suresh C Shah (chairman, Sapna Book House), the notebook distribution programme aims at providing students with basic necessities and encouraging them to pursu their dreams through education,” said Dottegowda, manager of Sapna Book House. With the sole intention of elevating the spirit of education; the book house aims to be a benefactor of mankind. After all, these children are our future. And, in order to sustain growth and productivity; each and every person must contribute towards helping these children receive proper education. Suresh C Shah is indeed doing his bit to contribute towards the betterment of the society. Having ancestral origins in Gujarat, Shah also worked as a railway coolie as a young lad. With strong leadership qualities and the urge to make a difference, he decided to open a store. Sapna means ‘dreams’ and for so many book-lovers it is indeed a dream come true. An entrepreneurial dream way back in 1967, it has turned into one of India’s largest showroom for books today. Anchored in the heart of Bangalore, India’s Silicon Valley, the showroom caters to information, education and entertainment products. It has also found a place in the Limca book of Records, as a largest book showroom, continuously for last seven years. The book house has met great success in motivating children to work harder to get their rightful place in the society. Organising several activites throughout the year, Suresh longs to give these children a future and hopes to enrich their lives in some way or the other.
