Doha: Tennis sensations Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi moved into pre-quarterfinals of the men's doubles tennis by defeating Tung Hiu Yu and Wayne Luen Wing Wong of Hong Kong 6-0, 6-4 in the round of 32 at the 15th Asian Games on Saturday.
In women's doubles, Ankita Bhambri and Rushmi Chakraverty also sailed into the pre-quarters defeating Huynh Mai Huynh and Ha Viet Ngo of Vietnam 6-3, 6-3 in their round of 32.
In mixed doubles, Paes and Sania Mirza entered quarterfinals by trouncing Uzbekistan's Murad Inoyatov and Dilyara Saidkhodjaeva 6-1, 6-3 in a pre-quarterfinal match.
In another pre-quarterfinal match, Bhupathi and Shikha Uberoi lost 4-6, 4-6 to Thai duo Sanchai Ratiwatana and Suchanun Viratprasert.
In a stunning upset, unseeded Chinese Sun Peng beat No. 8 seed Rohan Bopanna of India 6-3, 6-3 in the Round of 32 in the men's singles competition.
Sania will play her women singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches on Sunday. She will clash with Yoo Mi of South Korea in a pre-quarter final match.
